About
A search company that happens to sell parts.
Most parts businesses solve distribution. Ours solves discovery — the problem of a component that certainly exists, on a shelf somewhere in India, with no way for the person who needs it to find out where.
The problem we started from
A spare parts godown holds lakhs of individual components. They are not catalogued, because cataloguing them is a job that never finishes — new stock arrives, vehicles are dismantled, and the shelves change weekly.
So when somebody needs a part, a person has to physically walk the aisles and look. That search takes real time, and time costs money, so it only happens when a sale is certain at the end of it. A speculative enquiry from a garage two states away is not certain, so nobody goes and looks.
The result is a market failure that costs people their vehicles. Lakhs of cars in India are scrapped every year for want of a single component that exists, in stock, somewhere in the country.
SPARRAPS aggregates demand so the digging is always worth doing. We hold the request, we route it, and somebody goes and looks — because now there is a confirmed sale at the end of the search.
Why orphaned vehicles matter to us
When a manufacturer leaves a market, the dealer network goes with it. Chevrolet stopped selling in India in 2017; Ford stopped manufacturing here in 2021. Between them that is roughly 1 million vehicles whose owners increasingly find themselves calling around rather than ordering.
Those owners are not a niche. They are the clearest possible expression of the problem — and the place where a search network is not merely convenient but the only realistic alternative to a scrapyard.
The competitor is not another parts website. It is giving up and scrapping the vehicle.
What we stand behind
-
You are buying from SPARRAPS
Not from a godown, and not from a seller you have to evaluate. We set the price, we carry the guarantee, and if something goes wrong you complain to us. The partner network is infrastructure.
-
One price, set by us
Prices are fixed centrally and identical for everyone. Partners see what they will be paid and accept or decline. There is no bidding, no negotiation and no per-godown pricing anywhere in the system.
-
Nothing charged before you approve
Payment happens once, after you have seen photographs of the actual part. No deposits, no holding fees, no charge for a request that finds nothing.
-
Ratings stay private
You can rate a part, and only we and the supplying partner ever see it. It exists to manage quality and routing — not as public social proof. Which means our guarantee has to be real, because there are no reviews to hide behind.
The trade behind the pricing
Our pricing is set by people who have spent decades in the Indian spare parts trade — not by an algorithm guessing at margins. That experience is why a single fixed price works for both sides: it is set to be genuinely profitable for the godown supplying the part and fair to the garage buying it.
